Adult Picky Eaters

It’s not just children and teenagers who are fussy about food. Adults can also be selective eaters as the taste, smell, or texture of certain foods can be unenjoyable for some people.

If you’re the partner of a selective eater, or you’re hosting a dinner event where people with food aversions will attend, you might struggle cooking for them.  Finding meals that meet a picky eater’s preferences can be tough at the best of times. You might have a range of amazing dinner ideas, but they’re no good if your fussy eater friends and family members don’t like them!

Here are three top tips to help you support somebody who is a selective eater.

  • Pair the disliked foods with something they enjoy
  • Keep meal times stress free to make it easier for the selective eaters to try new foods
  • Ask the selective eaters to try just a small bite or two of the new food. This will help to expand their palette in a manageable way.
