Chest opener stretch

The chest muscles can get tight and stiff over time, especially if you don’t take the time to stretch them. Many of the activities  that we do in the modern-day lifestyle involve working in front of the body, such as typing, writing, and using our phones.

You can perform the chest opener stretch to relieve muscle tension in the upper body and reduce aches and pains in the chest area. Here’s how to perform a chest stretch.

  1. Find a sturdy wall and stand perpendicular to it.
  2. Lift the arm closest to the wall, keeping it bent at 90 degrees at the elbow.
  3. Rest your forearm flat on the wall and rotate your upper body away from the wall while keeping your body in contact with your arm in order to create a stretch in the chest muscles.
  4. Hold for 15-30 seconds and repeat on the other side.
