Full after a big holiday meal? Here’s what to do

Many of us have done it.  Everything looked and tasted so delicious that before we knew it, we were beyond comfortably full. Particularly, during the holidays or special occasions when the emphasis is on food, it's easy for our eyes to be bigger than our stomachs.

However, digestive discomfort detracts from enjoying the festivities. Ideally, it’s great to have strategies in place so that you do not overeat; however, we all overindulge sometimes.

Luckily, there are things that you can do if you feel overfull after eating a big holiday meal. Here are some helpful things that you can do to beat the bloat:

  • Drink plenty of water to aid your digestive system
  • Go for a walk to stimulate your digestion
  • Avoid lying down
  • Avoid drinking alcohol, carbonated beverages or calorie-heavy drinks
