Is functional fitness the same as strength training?

Functional training is a form of exercise that combines a range of different components that are designed to emulate everyday activities. They can increase your strength, power, range of motion, balance, coordination, stability, flexibility, and mobility.

Functional fitness contains some strength-based components, and you can certainly use it to improve your strength. However, it also incorporates other styles of training.

To practice functional training, you can perform movements that involve walking, jumping, squatting, lunging, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling and twisting. We perform all of these movements in our day-to-day lives, so including them in your training routine will improve your overall movement patterns and can reduce the risk of injuries and chronic pain.
