One Habit That Could Be Disrupting Your Sleep

There are many reasons why you might struggle to get to sleep at night. You might be overly stressed because of work, maybe your bedroom is too warm or perhaps you had that last cup of coffee too close to bedtime.

Another common reason why you might struggle to get to sleep or are prone to wake up multiple times in the middle of the night, is that you are working or studying in bed. By doing so, you are training your brain to associate your bed with work and activity.

Your brain will wake up when you get into bed because that’s what it needs to do when you’re working or studying in bed! As a result, your sleep quality will decrease.

To improve your sleep and make it easier for you to get a good 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night, avoid working or studying in bed. Instead, use a desk, or even your kitchen table, and save your bed for a good night’s sleep.
