Try this stretch to relieve neck tension

If your shoulders and neck feel tight and tense, it could be due to stress and anxiety. When you are always on the go, with little time for self-care, it can lead to experiencing tension in your body

The modern-day lifestyle doesn’t help either. We spend time hunched over our laptops or looking down at our phones, often for hours each day. This can add to the tension in your neck and shoulders, causing tightness and even headaches.

To relieve stress in your neck, try stretching the muscles. Here is a quick stretch to try once every evening to relieve tension and relax your upper body muscles.

  1. Take one hand and place it over the top of your head over to the opposite ear
  2. Gently lean your head to toward the side with the raised arm until you feel a nice stretch in your neck
  3. Hold this position for 15 seconds and repeat on the other side

You can adjust the angle of your neck to target different muscles in the area too. For example, bringing your neck slightly forward will target the muscles in the back of your neck and your upper traps. Moving it slightly backward will stretch the muscles in the front of your neck.
