Want to start using dumbbells? Do this first

When you want to start weightlifting, it can be a little intimidating if you’ve never done it before. Although everybody has to start somewhere, it’s important to ease yourself into weightlifting. Rushing things too quickly could increase your risk of injury and set you back.

If you want to start using dumbbells, whether at home or in the gym, try performing the exercise using just your body weight before you have any additional weight with the dumbbells. By practicing a movement using your body weight only, you can perfect your form before picking up the dumbbells.

By exercising with perfect form and technique, you will minimize your risk of injuries and maximize your results. Bodyweight exercises  are also much more convenient as they require no equipment. You can practice a variety of bodyweight movements before you join a local gym and start lifting with dumbbells.
