What does self-care really mean?

We’re all familiar with the term ‘self-care,’ but what does it actually mean, and how do you practice self-care in your daily life?

Self-care is the practice of looking after yourself and catering to your personal needs. It looks different for everybody, but the general principles are the same.

The main aim of self-care is to improve your health and well-being, and this might involve journaling, exercising, eating a healthy diet, and socializing with friends and family. Taking time for yourself improves your physical, mental, and social health in every way possible. It should be at the center of everything you do for this reason!
