Whole Wheat or Whole Grain? What's the Difference?

You might have seen the words ‘whole wheat’ and ‘whole grain’ on various bread products in the grocery store but have no idea what the difference is.

Whole wheat refers to bread that has been made using the entire wheat kernel. Whole grain is bread that has been made using any kind of whole-grain kernels, such as wheat, barley, spelt, oats, or a combination of more than one of these.

Neither bread is better than the other, and a lot of the time, it comes down to your personal preferences. Make sure to check the ingredients label if you’re not sure what you’re buying.
