Why You Should Change Up Your Exercise Routine

You may have heard that switching up your exercise routine is important, but why is this the case? Why should you keep things varied when it comes to your workouts?

According to the American Council on Exercise (ACE), there are two main reasons why you should switch up your workout regime.

The first reason is to prevent the boredom that comes along with doing the same workout all the time. The second reason is to prevent plateaus in your progress. When you’re doing the same workouts, your body quickly adapts and reaches a point at which it can’t adapt any further.

To prevent boredom and progress plateaus, make sure to regularly switch things up in your workout routine. Try out new forms of exercise that you’ve never tried before, or include new movements during your usual cardio or weight training workouts.
