Bored of Your Fitness Routine? Try One of These New Activities

It’s easy to get bored of your fitness routine. When you’ve been doing the same thing day in, day out for years, things become stale and you can start to get demotivated.

When this happens, the best thing to do is switch things up. Changing your exercise regime will reignite the spark and passion once again. Sometimes, this is all it takes for you to find your fitness mojo once again.

You could try replacing your usual gym routine with some high-intensity interval training (HITT) or some different gym classes. But if you've tried these before, you might find yourself quickly getting bored once again.

Geocaching

Geocaching is great if you are looking for an activity that gets you outside for lots of walking and exploring.  Using your mobile device to find hidden small, hidden containers called “caches.  This is a perfect activity to enjoy on your own, with friends or with your family.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling-based martial art. The main focus of this art is to take down your opponent and get them onto the floor from a standing position.

Although it’s less common than many other forms of exercise, it’s highly effective in building your physical and mental strength. BJJ has been shown to boost your physical fitness, self-awareness, and problem-solving abilities.

It’s also a great way to practice your social skills. Since you need an opponent to perform BJJ, you’ll be able to interact with other like-minded individuals.

Ballroom Dancing

There are plenty of different kinds of ballroom dancing, including tango, foxtrot, waltz, jive, and cha-cha. You are bound to find at least one form that you will love.

Ballroom dancing is a great way to get your heart rate up and improve your coordination and balance. You can also learn more about where each type of dance came from and the cultures behind them.

Join a ballroom dancing class where a professional dancer will teach you the basics. Many of the different types of ballroom dancing require a partner, so bring your friend or family member along with you!
