Exercises to Tone Your Arms
If you want to tone up your arms, you’ll need to start resistance training. Don’t worry! You don’t need to lift really heavy weights, and you won’t need to get ‘bulky’ if you want toned arms. Relatively light weights can help you to build some muscle in your upper body, especially if you are brand new to weight lifting.
All you will need is a single set of dumbbells. You can perform a range of exercises from the comfort of your own home, or you can head to the gym if you prefer.
Grab a set of dumbbells and try the exercises below.
- Double arm shoulder press or single arm shoulder press
- Arnold press
- Lateral raises
- Upright row
- Bicep curls
- Bent over row
- Rear delt fly
- Triceps kickback
- Chest press
Note that you don’t need dumbbells for every arm exercise. There are plenty of movements that you can perform using only your body weight. Here are some great ideas:
- Triceps dip
- Full push ups or knee push ups
- Side planks
- Dolphin yoga pose
- Bird dog
Start off with a few of the exercises above and create a short 10-minute exercise routine. Perform this routine 3-4 times a week for a few weeks. After this point, you can start to lengthen the workout to 20-30 minutes and incorporate a wider variety of movements.
