Grains aren’t usually the first thing that springs to mind when you think of high-protein foods. Usually, it’s foods like chicken, eggs, and tofu that we think about when we are trying to increase our protein intake.

However, there are whole grain foods that are very high in protein, and including more of these foods in your diet can help you reach the recommended protein intake for somebody within your age group.

Some grains are higher in protein than others. The best grains to consume when you are trying to increase your protein intake include buckwheat, quinoa, brown rice, rolled oats, millet, wholewheat, pasta, and Kamut.
