How to Add 3 Strength Training Exercises to Your Day

Strength training is one of the best forms of exercise for your health. It promotes muscle growth, strength gains, and increased endurance. It’s also a great tool for sustainable, healthy weight loss.

Anybody can practice resistance training. Whether you’re brand-new to exercise or you’ve dipped your toe into weight lifting in the past, you can find lots of exercises that work perfectly for your individual needs.

If you’re interested in starting a strength training routine, but you have no idea where to start, this article should help! We will cover three different strength training exercises that you can add to your daily routine.

Each of the three exercises is paired with an activity that you usually do each day. Pairing an exercise with something that you normally do as part of your daily routine will make it easier to keep up with them.

When you perform your usual activities, it will remind you to complete your daily exercises, so you can stay on track to reach your health and fitness goals. You can perform these movements almost anywhere, and they’re a great stepping stone into the weight lifting world.

Here are three great exercises and some everyday activities that you can pair them up with.

  • Push ups with your morning coffee. Work on your upper body strength and do a set of 10-12 push-ups against your countertop while you wait for your kettle to boil. This exercise targets your chest, shoulders, and triceps.
  • Squats while you brush your teeth. Get your lower body muscles and core muscles working as you clean your teeth in the mornings and in the evenings before bed.
  • Calf raises while you’re on the phone. If you’re calling a work colleague or a friend, stand up and do a few sets of calf raises. This will stimulate both of the calf muscles in each leg (the soleus and the gastrocnemius) and help to increase their strength and endurance.
