How to fit in exercise when you have kids

When you have kids, it can be difficult to find time to exercise. Between work, school, extracurricular activities, meals and housework, days are often already jam packed.

So, where does exercise fit into your schedule?

When it comes to working out as a parent, it helps to be strategic with your time. Try planning ahead so that you can schedule in time for yourself each week. Your free time might be in the early mornings before your kids are awake or it might be later in the evening when they’re in bed.

You can also split your workouts into shorter time slots. Rather than trying to find a longer block of time, break your workouts into smaller chunks. For example, do a quick HIIT workout before getting your kids ready for school, a brisk walk at lunch and a restorative yoga session in the evening.

Another great way to exercise with kids is getting them involved. Take a walk around the local park or go to the pool and bring them along! Engaging together in an active lifestyle helps your children develop important lifelong habits and gives you the opportunity to enjoy time together.
