Is Walking Really That Good For Me?

Is Walking Really That Good For Me?

Walking is one of the best forms of exercise that you can do. Just 30 minutes of walking a day increases your heart rate, enhances your lung capacity and helps you to burn more calories if you have a weight loss goal.

When you exercise, happy hormones, such as serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins, are released into your body. This can make you feel happier and more motivated and is amazing for your mental health. If you’re walking outside, there’s also the added benefit of getting sunlight and fresh air, which can be amazing for your mental health too.

But if you’re getting bored of walking the same route day in, day out, it might be time to switch things up. By adjusting certain things in your walk, you can reignite your interest in this form of exercise and motivate yourself to keep doing it each day.

Try walking a new route that you’ve never been before or listen to some new music or an exciting podcast. You could also take a buddy along with you or join a walking group for the social element.
