Mindful walking
Mindfulness is the practice of being present and fully engaged in the moment. It can help reduce stress and anxiety and improve overall mental health and wellbeing. While mindfulness can be practiced in many different ways, one simple and accessible way is through mindful walking.
Mindful or meditative walking involves being fully present and aware of the sensations of walking, such as the feeling of your feet on the ground or the movement of your legs.
Find a quiet and safe place to walk, take a few deep breaths to center yourself, and then begin walking slowly. As you do so, intentionally focus your attention on the sensations you're feeling, the sounds you're hearing, and the sights you can see. Pay attention to the movement of your legs, the feel of your feet on the ground, and the rhythm of your breath.
As you walk, try to stay present in the moment and bring your mind back to center if you feel yourself drifting off into deep thought. You can also try saying positive affirmations out loud as you walk.
