Remember this tip when planning your workout schedule
Planning your workouts is a great way to help ensure you are able to stick to them. Scheduling is a way to make a contract with yourself and to preserve time in your day for your health and wellbeing. However, life doesn’t always go according to plan. What happens when your workout plans get taken over by something more pressing?
As much as you probably want to create a detailed plan and stick to it exactly, this isn’t always possible and the ability to stay flexible can be an important part of your long-term success.
Life can be unpredictable, and being flexible with your workout schedule means you won’t get stressed if you need to switch things up temporarily. We all miss workouts occasionally, and that’s okay. Try not to let yourself stress about it. Simply adjust your schedule and continue moving forward toward your health and fitness goals. If you find you are consistently missing your workouts, take the time to reevaluate your schedule and determine a new cadence that will work for you.
Exercise, like life, requires us to be flexible sometimes. Empowering yourself to know when changing your plans is necessary and believing that it will not undermine your motivation will help you avoid frustration and strengthen your ability to reach long-term goals.
