Steamed vegetable wontons [Recipe]

Ingredients

  • Wonton wrappers
  • Mixed vegetables (such as carrots, cabbage, mushrooms)
  • Soy sauce
  • Sesame oil
  • Green onions & peanuts (optional)

Directions

  • Finely chop the mixed vegetables and place them in a mixing bowl.
  • Add soy sauce and sesame oil to the bowl, and mix well to combine.
  • Take a wonton wrapper and place a small spoonful of the vegetable mixture in the center.
  • Wet the edges of the wonton wrapper with water and fold it in half to form a triangle. Press the edges together to seal.
  • Repeat with the remaining wonton wrappers and vegetable filling.
  • Place the filled wontons in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper or cabbage leaves.
  • Steam the wontons for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are cooked through and tender.
  • Optional: Garnish with sliced green onions and peanuts.
  • Serve the steamed vegetable wontons with a dipping sauce of your choice, such as soy sauce or sweet chili sauce.
