Tight back? Try the happy baby pose.

The Happy Baby Pose (known as the Ananda Balasana) is a popular yoga and Pilates stretch. It calms the mind and stretches and massages the muscles of the back. It’s also perfect for increasing flexibility, strength, and range of motion.

To perform the Happy Baby Pose, follow these steps:

  1. Lie flat on your back on a mat
  2. Keep your head and spine flat on the mat. Bring your knees up toward your chest, keeping them bent at 90 degrees. Your toes should be pointing up toward the ceiling
  3. Hold the soles of your feet with your hands and push your knees apart, bringing them closer toward your armpits
  4. Gently rock yourself from side to side, massaging the back. Take a few deep breaths as you do so
