What Is Mindful Listening?
Mindful listening, often referred to as active listening, is the practice of carefully listening and observing the verbal and non-verbal signals that are being sent from other people. In other words, it is about taking the time and effort to make sure you are taking in as much information as possible in a conversation.
Another key part of mindful listening is your response. Once you have taken in everything that the other person is saying to you, it’s important to acknowledge the messages and give an appropriate response.
When you provide feedback for the verbal and non-verbal communication that has been sent to you, it really shows the other person that you are truly listening to what they are saying. This can increase your empathy, enhance people’s trust in you, and strengthen your relationship.
