Current guidelines recommend that we should all aim to complete 150 minutes of moderate-vigorous intensity exercise every week. But what actually is moderate-intensity exercise?

Moderate-intensity exercise refers to physical activity that causes your heart rate to increase and your breathing to become faster than it usually is when you’re at rest. However, you should still be able to talk while doing moderate-intensity exercise. It’s basically a middle ground between very easy and very hard exercise!

Examples of moderate-intensity activities include:

  • Aqua aerobics Brisk walking Cycling at a speed below 10 miles/ 16 kms per hour Gardening Social dancing
