What is upcycling?

Upcycling has grown in popularity over the last few years, along with the rise in eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyles.

Upcycling is very similar to recycling in that it involves reusing objects or materials to reduce the use of new materials. Unlike recycling, upcycling involves creating something brand-new directly from the materials of the original object.

It doesn’t involve breaking down the materials into their constituents before building them back up to be reused. Instead, the process of upcycling involves creating something more valuable or just as valuable as the original item.

You can upcycle a wide range of things, but clothing is one of the most popular options but you can potentially take any object destined for the garbage and instead give it an entirely new life.
