Sleeping through your alarm? Try these tips
In a perfect world we never need to use an alarm clock to wake up in the morning. However, alarm clocks are a part of most people's lives and many of us have slept through them on occasion. While this can cause inconvenience, regularly sleeping through your alarm can suggest a problem with your sleep routine.
Here are tips to help you develop a sleep routine that works for you.
- Try going to bed at the same time each night
- Aim to get up at the same time every morning
- Make sure your bedroom environment is optimal for sleep (dark, cool, and quiet)
- Reduce your caffeine consumption or avoid it altogether in the evenings
- Avoid blue light emitting devices for at least one hour before bed
- Develop a schedule that allows you to get between 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night
