Why a morning walk is a great way to start your day

A great way to start your morning is with a walk, but why is this the case?

One of the most effective ways to regulate your circadian rhythm is to get natural light. When you expose yourself to natural light first thing in the morning, it signals to your body that it’s time to wake up. The pineal gland decreases the production of melatonin, which is the hormone that usually makes you feel sleepy in the evenings when it’s time to go to bed.

Going for a morning walk outside also gets your body moving. Starting your day off with physical activity gets your heart rate up and enables you to get a quick workout into your day before you start work or run errands.

If you usually struggle to find time to work out during the day, getting it done in the morning takes the pressure off your shoulders later in the day.
