Why workout buddies are the best (and how they can help you stick to your goals)

If you lack motivation to work out, finding a gym buddy might be just what you need.

Sometimes working out alone can get boring. If you don’t enjoy what you’re doing, you’re going to lose motivation. Workout partners make exercise fun. By grabbing a friend to join in, you can transform your workouts into a social event. Maybe you can both sign up for a new gym class, go for a run together in the park, or meet up to complete a home workout.

If you’re fairly new to exercise, find a workout buddy with experience to show you the ropes. This is particularly helpful if you are resistance training, as your friend can teach you the correct form for each exercise.

When the workout gets tough, and you feel like giving up, your workout buddy is there to keep you going. You can encourage each other to get in those final few reps or push through the last of your run.

You and your friend can hold each other accountable. If you share similar goals, you can create friendly competition that may be helpful to help you reach your fitness goals and achieve better results.

For the times when you’re losing motivation and falling off track, your workout buddy can keep you going. Find a friend who shares the same passion for fitness as you do, and you’ll reach your goals in no time.
